2. Homeschool Statement
LVCHA is only open to families who are homeschooling at least one child who is age 5 or older as of September 1, 2025, as defined by Nevada state statute found here: NRS 388D.010-070.

Traditional homeschooling, as defined by Nevada Homeschool Network, is when a parent files a Notice of Intent to Homeschool and legally takes full responsibility to provide an education to their child. In other words, the parent fully directs/controls the education of their child, not the government (including any form of public-school option). The parent is the teacher/principal who not only provides the education but also advances their child to the next grade level when their child is ready and issues the diploma when their child completes their K-12 education.

7. Background Check Acknowledgement
Background Checks: In order to protect our families and children, background checks are required for any adult who will volunteer in any capacity, regularly attend events where children will be present, or for ALL adults in a home that will host events. Background checks are good for a period of three years and will be done at no extra cost to our families.

We are using a Third Party provider for this and will not be storing your sensitive information. If the background check is not done, you will either have to pay the opt-out fee or we will remove your family from the group. If there is an issue with your background check, we will contact you for an interview to discuss.

If a background check has been completed in the last two years, you are NOT required to complete this year.

Please complete the Background Check Form 2025-26 for EACH ADULT who has not been background checked by LVCHA in the last two years and will be volunteering in any capacity, hosting events in your home, or regularly attending LVCHA events where children will be present.

After processing your registration, we will send you another email to complete the actual background check.
All families are required to sign a Family Release of Liability Form 2025-26 every year that they are members of Las Vegas Christian Homeschool Alliance. Your registration will NOT be approved until this form is complete.
