Nature Club

Welcome!
Navigators Homeschool Nature Club is a small, intentional, community created to foster meaningful connections—both child-to-child and parent-to-parent—through shared outdoor experiences. Our focus is on cultivating independent and imaginative play away from playgrounds, technology, and everyday distractions. Each month, we’ll gather at a different location such as mountains, valleys, lakes, historic sites, and more. To encourage deeper relationships and richer learning, membership is intentionally limited within the LVCHA community.
Our meetings highlight both learning and exploration. Each gathering will feature a short family-led lesson connected to a monthly theme.
Lessons should last between 10–30 minutes and include a hands-on element such as a scavenger hunt, craft, worksheet, or story. Families are encouraged to prepare and present together, with students sharing in the teaching whenever possible.
General Structure of a Gathering
• 10 minutes of greetings and arrivals
• 10–30 minutes of a family-led lesson with visuals or interactive activities
• Open-ended play and exploration of the natural setting
**Parents are solely responsible for the safety and supervision of their children, especially in environments that may include heights, water, animals, and other natural risks. Our goal is to create a supportive and close-knit group where children and adults alike can learn, grow, and form lasting friendships while exploring the beauty and history around us.
