Membership Benefits

We know that budgets matter and knowing what comes with your LVCHA membership is an important aspect of each family's decision-making process.  This page was designed to give you an overview of the enrichment activities available with LVCHA.  The detailed list of activities may evolve as the year progresses based on needs and resources, but the goals and framework expressed here will stay the same.

Goals & Framework

Free Student Events Parent Events Low-Cost Events Co-op & PE Classes

Our goal is to offer 1+ free field trip each month for our LVCHA students.

Additionally, we often have free age-focused events like pool parties, movie nights, and so much more!

Ensuring that all students have access to free events is a key priority for the LVCHA board.

We are passionate about supporting our LVCHA homeschool parents as well, which is why you will see parent events sprinkled throughout our calendar.

These events are intended to help families connect and build community.

These will consist of both free and "at cost" events.

Our goal is to offer 1+ low cost field trip each month. These are "at cost" events that typically cover the cost of admission to a museum or other venue.

We also host special large events like dances and camping trips!  These are also a low "at cost" fee simply to cover the location/event.

We always work with vendors to provide the lowest discounted cost for our LVCHA families.

Co-op and PE classes have a small cost per student. This is also an "at cost" fee to cover the location and basic supplies.

We have found that this is the easiest way to share the overall cost of these opportunities in a way that is minimal and fair for all families.

This allows us to support our volunteer teachers and our building in a way that is still financially supportive of our participating LVCHA families.

Parent Participation

Volunteering Opt-Out Fee Co-Op & PE Classes

We are able to offer free and "at cost" opportunities because of the amazing volunteer efforts of our LVCHA parents!

As a member of LVCHA, we ask parents to sign up as an official volunteer for at least one event outside of co-op classes.

We understand that some families have very limited capacity and volunteering with time just isn't an option. Because of this, we offer an opt-out fee for families who choose this option.

This allows us to keep costs minimal while also remaining inclusive to families who may need another option.

One parent is asked to remain on site while their student(s) is attending classes. Parents also volunteer as helpers in our classrooms.

Parents who volunteer as teachers or co-teachers are given first priority during student registration.
